Meet The Maker

My name is Tim Conklin and I own and operate TCF Soap. I make everything by hand, by myself. My wife and 6 year old daughter help when they can, and I love them for it.

The reason I began this whole journey is my love of soaps after being introduced from various beard oil groups. I was buying local soaps from the farmers markets or our grocery stores that had a natural soap section. They were great, but man were they pricey. I couldn't afford to buy these expensive, great smelling soaps all the time, so I looked into other options. One of those being to just do the dang thing myself.

I started with melt and pour to get a feel for things and quickly moved into cold process, which I absolutely love. I love making intricate designs in my soaps. I want them to look just as good sitting in a soap dish on your bathroom sink as they perform in the shower. I want these to be the "good soaps" your mom always yelled at you for using.

The name TCF Soap has a double meaning. It stands for "The Conklin Family" Soap or as we like to say, "Taylor's College Fund". Taylor being my adorable lil' girl. Our daughter has been though so much in these past few years (the toughest being diagnosed with T1 diabetes at 4 years old) and she's such a strong warrior. I will do anything I can to save for her education. She loves to help out when she can, with her favorite part being smelling the soaps.

I have a full time job as a pool cleaner, so I can't make soaps as much as I'd love to, which is crazy because I make a lot as is, haha. I get home from work and set out to make the loaf I've been visualizing all day. It's my zen place when I'm making soap. I put everything into them. It makes me happy to know other people are happy using a product I created.

So that's my story. I'm Tim from TCF Soap and I'd love to serve you all.
